I am a breast cancer survivor that takes healthcare very seriously. I am very well aware of the problems that people with pre-existing conditions have in finding access to the hospital. Declination after declination makes each person confident that they cannot be covered. Then there are people that are being priced out of the healthcare market with premiums sometimes larger than their mortgage each month. Small and large businesses are paying healthcare bills that equal or surpass their payroll.  There are people who are lucky enough to have insurance but if they have an accident or are hospitalized they have to pay large deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays. A Harvard study found that 70% of bankruptcies in this country come from the inability to pay the patient portion of the hospital bill. We have no idea what will really happen in the next 3 years with the Health Care changes that the government has offered. Knowing one out of 7 will have an accident or be in the hospital for some reason you can just feel the gathering storm and are you prepared to pay your part or that entire hospital bill? If these are your employees how productive do you think they really are?
